We are looking for a Junior Production Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in developing and optimising production processes. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing SOPs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), and ensuring quality control standards are met. You will work closely with production technicians to identify process improvements and support lean manufacturing initiatives.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree/Diploma in Production, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in drafting and implementing SOPs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
  • Experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and quality control.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.
  • Ability to work directly with production technicians on the shop floor to troubleshoot issues and implement best practices.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards, Quality management System and process documentation best practices.
  • Exposure to 3D modelling software (AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems.

QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRABLE):

  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Yellow Belt, Green Belt, or higher)
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes (grinding, welding, polishing, assembly).
  • Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
  • Familiarity with patination and finishing techniques for brass, steel, and bronze.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, document and implement SOPs for all production stages, including fabrication, welding, assembly, and patination (finishing/painting).
  • Collaborate with design, production, and quality team to ensure SOPs ,BOMs and drawings align with best practices.
  • Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accurate material listings
  • Train production teams on new SOPs, BOM updates and Lean best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Ensure quality control standards are met, reducing defects and enhancing product consistency.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives, process optimization, and waste reduction strategies.
  • Work closely with production technicians on the shop floor to draft SOP’s and ensure SOPs are followed correctly and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Support the Production Engineer in developing SOPs, process improvements, and training programs.
