This is why you want to join us as Junior Production Specialist Tomato and Eggplant at Enza Zaden A dynamic job in which you coordinate the global seed production for Tomato varieties Working in a young, diverse team/department with international exposure The opportunity to contribute to innovation in seed production, while we as a company are ‘breeding to feed the world’ Grow and develop yourself at one of the world’s most innovative seed breeding companies Make a difference as Junior Production Specialist Spend time in the field, actively monitoring the crops, “reading” the plants, and identifying pests, diseases, or other challenges; Provide agronomic support and maintain communication with producers and international colleagues to monitor seed production progress and quality; Collect and register production data in our ERP system for insights into seed availability, research, and analysis, working both remotely and on-site at production locations in the Netherlands and abroad; Initiate and manage improvement processes for new production trials; Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Research & Development, Seed Operations, and Marketing & Sales to optimize seed availability; Establish and maintain optimal production conditions for new varieties, while documenting relevant production characteristics; Travel regularly to guide production activities in dynamic and fast-growing regions. What you bring as a future colleague Bachelor’s or Master’s in Plant Sciences or (International) Agribusiness Studies (background with strong practical experience is also valuable); At least 1-3 years of experience in agribusiness and/or (vegetable) seed cultivation, preferably in pepper; A passion for plants and an eye for plant-related pests and diseases; Excellent communication skills in English, and preferably also in Dutch; Analytical, practical and solution-oriented; Willing to travel (within and outside Europe); Hold a valid driver’s license. Your affinity and experience with plants are of great value. Your love for plants, agronomic curiosity, and ability to "read" them, empowers you to detect crop issues and suggest essential actions for growers. You maintain a good overview and are skilled in planning and organizing. In international interactions with producers and regional colleagues e.g. Latin America, Asia and East Africa, your adaptability shines as you tailor your approach to diverse cultures and local conditions. You are a real doer who loves organizing and coordinating, but also enjoys being in the field, close to the crop, and working hands-on with growers.
