JUNIOR PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATOR

Livingston Steel Inc. is a steel fabrication company which also provides service and installation of steel and custom fabrication. Livingston Steel Inc. is looking to fill the position of Junior Project Manager / Estimator.
The successful candidate will be working in cooperation with the general manager, estimator, detailers and project management staff.
Position: Junior Project Manager / Estimator

Job description and duties:

• Assist customers at Front Desk & Custom projects.
• Assist with Inventory control.
• Interpret specifications, construction blueprints, and project requirements.
• Meet project deadlines related to shop drawings submittals and delivery dates.
• Generate shop drawings for fabrication using AutoCad.
• Be familiar with and write RFI’s as required.
• Be familiar with and price change orders as required.
• Attend site meetings as required.
• Purchase materials and supplies for projects as required.
• Maintain service and good quality relationships with clients.
• Perform material takeoffs, pricing, estimates, scheduling of work, and follow up of sales and service as required to support estimating staff.
• Work closely with management and consult on a regular basis on all projects.
• Maintain work log of estimates and job recovery analysis.
• Manage projects in coordination with the Senior Project Manager.
• Coordinate and manage field operations and manpower with the Senior Project Manager.

Qualification requirements:

• Degree/Diploma/Certificate in construction management.
• Construction experience with focus in carpentry/foundation work considered an asset.
• Experience in steel industry or metal fabrications considered an asset.
• Experience using MS Office and MS Excel.
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with CAD software, specifically AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT.
• Ability to travel to job sites for measurements/inspection (Class 5 drivers license)
