Why work at Johnstone and Reimer Lawyers?
As a firm, we were founded on the vision of wanting to do law differently. We want our team to be able to enjoy coming to work in a positive environment, while doing meaningful work which makes a real practical difference in the lives of our clients.
Our philosophy across the practice is to seek to provide clients with access to justice – we want to bridge the gap between legal aid and expensive private firms. We try to help the clients that slip between the cracks of the justice system.
There may be more than 50 of us now, but we still try to keep the tight knit “small firm” feel where everyone genuinely cares about each other. We’re a group that works hard during work hours, while enjoying camaraderie with colleagues and valuing work life balance – properly switching off at the end of the day. Besides this, there’s a few other great benefits to working with us:
In joining Johnstone and Reimer Lawyers you would be joining a tight knit group who care deeply about making a difference in the lives of their clients.
Junior Property Lawyer – Eastern Suburbs – Lilydale Office
Johnstone and Reimer Lawyers are a well respected and rapidly growing general practice firm with offices in Lilydale, Berwick and Reservoir. Our firm’s mission is to solve client’s legal problems as expeditiously as possible.
We have an opening for a Junior Property Lawyer who is looking for a varied and fulfilling role in a supportive, positive workplace.
This role may be suitable for a motivated graduate recently admitted to practice, or just prior to admission. Pre-admission experience in property law, and a demonstrable interest in property law will be favourably looked upon.
The successful applicant would report to and have the opportunity to be mentored by a Senior Property Lawyer, and form a key part of our growing Property Law practice group. After learning the basics, the lawyer in this role will develop into managing a wide range of interesting property matters from start to finish under supervision, including but not limited to:
Excellent written skills are required with a strong attention to detail, along with an ability to work efficiently. Excellent time management skills are a must.
The characteristics we most value in an applicant are a proven strong work ethic and “can do” attitude.
This role will be based at our Lilydale office, however there will be an expectation that the successful applicant be willing to work at least one day a week from either our Berwick office in Melbourne’s South Eastern suburbs or our Reservoir office in Melbourne’s Northern Suburbs.
