As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a Junior Purchasing Assistant to join our team

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills for working with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with Sage or similar ERP systems (desirable but not essential).
  • All training will be provided in house; prior experience is not essential.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Purchasing Assistant to support our purchasing team. You will support the purchasing manager in forecasting stock needs, liaising with suppliers, tracking shipments, and keeping our inventory systems accurate and up to date. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in purchasing within a fast-paced and supportive environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking or running out-of-stock (OOS) situations.
  • Entering purchase details accurately into internal databases.
  • Placing orders with suppliers to replenish stock as needed.
  • Track shipments and proactively address any delays.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, reliability, and service.
  • Prepare and share regular inventory reports to maintain ideal stock levels.
  • Liaise with warehouse staff and other internal teams to coordinate shipments.
  • Maintain supplier price lists and update changes within Sage.
  • Utilise Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, to analyse purchasing and inventory data.
