You will support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) with a Veteran first vision to transform the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) with greater visibility into claims processing. You’ll work as part of a collaborative, agile team using Python and modern AWS services to build microservices, data pipelines, and automation tools that power one of the most meaningful missions in government IT. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Assist with development and integration of backend services using Python Collaborate with senior developers to implement, test, and maintain APIs and other integration solutions. Write clean, efficient, and reusable Python code, adhering to industry best practices. Help build automated tests and internal tools Participate in code reviews, debugging, testing and documentation Contribute to improving integration workflow and services. WHAT YOU'LL NEED (REQUIRED): Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field Basic knowledge of Python programming and understanding of its ecosystem and libraries Familiarity with Git or other version control systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Basic knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC )best practices Willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative team setting Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance WHAT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER (PREFERRED): Understanding of REST APIs and JSON Experience with Fast API, Flask, or Django frameworks. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
