JOB SUMMARY

Global Mission Support Services is seeking a highly motivated researcher to join a team of investigative and due diligence researchers based in Dubai.
Our small research team’s expertise helps our clients make informed, ethical decisions about the professionals and businesses they work with, the assets they acquire, and where and how they operate. Some of the products the team offers to clients include integrity / reputational due diligence reports, compliance and litigation investigations.
The Junior Researcher / Analyst will play a key role in contributing to the production and delivery of subject matter reports and country risk reports.
The successful candidate will have excellent qualitative research skills, be a naturally gifted writer, and display an innate sense of curiosity about international affairs, international relations and security and global markets.
The successful candidate will possess an outstanding aptitude for thinking and writing analytically to a very high standard under tight deadlines. They will also have demonstrable experience in data analytics and visualization.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years professional research or risk analyses experience in a fast-paced environment
• Impeccable writing skills; ability to articulate complex findings in a clear and concise manner for a sophisticated audience
• Internet research skills; knowledge of Boolean searching and how / where to find information that may not be readily apparent, or which the target has actively taken steps to conceal
• Time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple competing projects under tight deadlines
• A basic understanding of and interest in due diligence and compliance risks – experience in the sector is highly desirable
• Proven qualitative and quantitative research skills across a variety of topics (economic, political, statistical etc.
• Academic or professional training in political, business or security risk analysis
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited university
• Professional proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge and understanding of political, regulatory and operational global risk issues such as sanctions risk, regulatory issues and corruption trends
• Knowledge of English and Arabic. Additional languages are a bonus.

• Conduct in-depth online and open source research into companies and individuals, providing all source-analysis of reputational, compliance, and environmental / social / governance risks.
• Demonstrate mastery of open source research tools such as WorldCheck, PACER, Factiva, CLEAR, etc.
• Retrieve and review court documents, regulatory filings, social media disclosures, and other online sources for indications of reputational risks / lack of probity
• Perform country research and risk analyses and provide comprehensive report.
• Write concise, cogent summary reports; deliver written and verbal briefings to senior management on research findings.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines – often 48 hours or less – while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
