Description
Your Role in Our Story: In essence, your role involves: Helping turn ACT’s mission into commercial results by building and qualifying a pipeline of corporate and institutional clients. Actively prospecting new clients through outbound calls, emails, events, and referrals to convert leads into trading accounts. Speaking with prospective clients to understand their needs and constraints, and matching them with ACT’s environmental commodity solutions for both compliance and voluntary markets. Quoting, negotiating, and executing spot and forward trades within approved limits, following desk guidance, risk policies, and delegated authorities. Putting together straightforward solutions using standard instruments (such as certificates, allowances, and credits) under the guidance of senior traders. Preparing prices and term sheets, and quickly confirming and recapping deals to clients and internal teams to ensure everything is correct. Keeping accurate and complete records in trade systems so that Operations and Back Office can process trades smoothly. Working closely with Compliance, Risk, and Operations on onboarding, KYC/AML checks, confirmations, and settlements to reduce operational risk. Monitoring your own activity, pipeline, conversion, and P&L contribution, and sharing your progress and next steps in team meetings. Continuously building your knowledge of markets, products, and regulations through ACT trainings and self-study, and sharing useful insights with the team. Your Expertise: To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes: Post-secondary education or proven equivalent commercial aptitude; a Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, international relations, environmental studies or a related field is a plus. Clear commercial drive, shown through internships, student jobs in sales, or experience in research/analysis or other business-focused activities. Ideally 0–2 years of experience in sales, brokerage, trading support, or another client-facing role; experience with cold calling or cold emailing is an advantage. Interest in business, finance, sustainability, or energy/environmental markets, and the ambition to grow in environmental commodities and climate solutions. Strong communication skills: able to explain solutions clearly, listen carefully to client needs, and build long-term relationships. Resilience and persistence in prospecting, comfortable with high-volume outreach and rejection. High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail when pricing deals, recapping trades, and maintaining records. Structured and organized way of working, with disciplined use of CRM and other systems to track activities and pipeline. Sound judgement and integrity, following policies, risk limits, and compliance requirements while tailoring your approach to each client. Confident user of standard office tools and basic data analysis; ready and willing to learn ACT’s systems and controls. If you recognize yourself in this profile and want to build your commercial career in a fast-growing, purpose-driven environment, we encourage you to apply and grow with ACT.
