JOB DESCRIPTION – JUNIOR SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR

CobbleStone Software’s IT Security and Compliance Coordinator will support the Security & Compliance Team to ensure that CobbleStone Systems complies with SOC 1 and 2, Cyber Essentials, CMMC, FedRAMP, CSA STAR, and general NIST control standards. In this role, you will also assist with our internal compliance initiatives, which include accessibility, information governance, data security, and risk management. The Junior Security and Compliance Coordinator position is an entry-level role within the IT Security and Compliance Team. The ideal candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of critical thinking.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems,
    or a related field; OR equivalent experience
    · One - two years of demonstrated experience working in an IT role providing technical support, or IT security
    · Experience either reviewing raw activity logs or inspecting events using a log/event app
    · Daily and frequent use of an email client (Outlook, etc.) in a work environment, including advanced tasks such as creating e-mail folders and mail processing rules, applying automatic labels/categorization, etc.
    · Proficient in researching, identifying, and applying IT security best practices
    · Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    · Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
    · Excellent problem-solving skills
    · Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
    · Varied technical knowledge and skills needed in the following areas:
    o A deep knowledge of web technologies, and solutions
    o Must be a strong problem solver,
    o Proficient in the use of PCs, tablets, and mobile devices.
    o Proficient with Microsoft office productivity software tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    o Proficiency with Online Meeting Tools (such as Teams) a plus.
    o Proficiency with web-based systems a plus.
Responsibilities

Job responsibilities for a Security and Compliance Technical Coordinator include (but is not limited to):

  • Some experience of SOC compliance or NIST Control Framework
  • An ability to gather, analyze and present complex information
  • Manage large databases and take on simple data analytics tasks using excel

· Perform technical security assessments, and compliance audits

  • Perform thorough analysis of gathered information
  • Review test results from tools,
  • A familiarity with risk management

· Monitor security assessments and compliance audits; and supply updates to stakeholders and management teams as needed,

  • Acute attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough understanding of data protection principles and practices
  • Experience of working on your own initiative and managing a busy workload
  • Collaborate with other security and compliance team members to strengthen the security capability of CobbleStone

· Document and update policies, and procedures as improvements and changes are needed

  • Report and escalate assessment issues or concerns to management and key stakeholders, as documented
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and regulations that could impact the Security and Compliance programs
  • Coordinate resources to ensure projects remain within scope and on-schedule,
  • Experience in cross departmental engagement

· Adhere to company policies and procedures.
· Assist with other duties assigned as required to achieve company’s mission.
· When asked: assist and/or lead the mentoring of other staff.

· Maintain compliance with PTO and time-off policies, security policies, and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and client contract obligations; strive to schedule all time-off in advance and coordinate with manager and Human Resources.

· Assist with meeting Companies goal of client revenue growth, client retention, profitability goals.
· May require overnight travel for multiple days
