JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Service Engineer to join our marine electronics service team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and technical support of NAVCOM (Navigation and Communication) equipment on vessels, yachts, and boats. You will be working both independently and as part of a team to ensure high-quality service delivery to our clients across the maritime sector.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Electronics, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in marine electronics service or similar field preferred.
  • Familiarity with GMDSS, VDR, radar, ECDIS, AIS, and other NAVCOM systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting.
  • Willingness to travel locally and offshore as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Carry out installation and commissioning of NAVCOM equipment on customers’ vessels, yachts, and boats.
  • Handle maintenance and servicing of VDR-APTs, navigation equipment, GMDSS systems, and other marine electronic equipment.
  • Manage retrofit projects, including full bridge installations and large-scale system integrations.
  • Coordinate closely with service coordinators to optimize scheduling and service efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to customers, as well as internal sales and service teams.
  • Perform surveys and inspections of ship radio communication and navigational systems (subject to holding valid certifications and qualifications).
  • Execute unplanned maintenance to troubleshoot and rectify failures or malfunctions with minimal downtime.
  • Manage spare parts requisitions and inventory for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Prepare technical reports and service documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct quality assurance and safety checks on all installed or serviced equipment.
  • Use appropriate hand and power tools safely and effectively during service tasks.
  • Maintain detailed test and inspection records for all completed work.
  • Provide on-site training and demonstrations to customers on the use and maintenance of installed systems.
  • Ensure all work is performed within the agreed budget and timeline.
  • Be available for offshore jobs and travel as required by project needs.
