We are seeking an experienced and motivated Junior Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the leading food as medicine platform.
NourishedRx is building an innovative end-to-end digital health platform to improve the lives of those suffering from chronic diet-related disease and food insecurity by leveraging the power of food and behavioral economics in the $30 billion “food as medicine” market. NourishedRx partners with health plans and employers to deliver personalized food plans and home delivery of a wide assortment of healthful, nutritious meals to their most vulnerable members – those facing nutritionally sensitive chronic health conditions who are often at risk of food insecurity.
NourishedRx is a venture-backed company that has recently completed its Series A funding round, and is now seeking to expand its team. We are a passionate team of healthcare professionals, food entrepreneurs, business executives, and experienced product managers united by our belief that nutritious food and health education are strong determinants of good health and a life well-lived. We have successfully launched multiple programs in collaboration with major health plans nationwide.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (OPTIONAL)

• Experience with web development frameworks (e.g., ReactJS, MaterialUI, etc).
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
• Experience building web or mobile applications through projects, internships, or coursework.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and authentication methods (e.g., OAuth2).
• Experience with Flutter/Dart is nice to have.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1+ years of experience in software development or a similar role, or relevant coursework or internship experience.

SOFT SKILLS:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

THE ROLE:

• Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of NourishedRx’s applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members on software development best practices.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues.
• Learn and adapt to new technologies and programming languages quickly.
• Practice basic test-driven development and assist with Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing.
• Follow digital security best practices and support healthcare compliance initiatives.
• Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
