Southern City Bathroom Renovations

Southern City Bathroom Renovations provides a complete renovation service from start to finish, delivering quality workmanship throughout every stage of the process. We are a long-established family-owned company located in Bunbury Western Australia.

We are seeking a Junior Software Developer to join our team in a full-time, permanent position. This is a hands-on development role offering the opportunity to build practical software development experience while contributing to the development of our custom internal business management software.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will work closely with management and staff to understand business requirements and develop practical software solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce administration and support our day-to-day activities.

This position would suit a recent graduate, early-career developer or someone with up to two years of relevant software development experience who is looking to develop their skills in a practical business environment.

About the Role

As our Junior Software Developer, you will assist with the ongoing development, testing and maintenance of software used across the business. You will gain exposure to different areas of software development while working directly with the people who use the applications every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, testing, maintaining and enhancing custom business software applications.
  • Writing, modifying, testing and debugging application code.
  • Assisting with analysing user requirements and developing practical software solutions.
  • Developing and maintaining software modules supporting employee attendance, work allocation, project documentation, safety reporting, material requests, client variations and expense processing.
  • Investigating software issues, resolving defects and implementing updates.
  • Working with application databases and software integrations.
  • Preparing and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Liaising with users to understand how the software is being used and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implementing approved software improvements and new functionality.
  • Participating in software testing and deployment activities.
