Overview of Opportunity Two Six Technologies is seeking a Junior Software Developer to assist in developing software solutions within an Agile environment. You will contribute to feature implementation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and gain hands-on experience delivering high-quality software increments. This role is ideal for individuals with foundational knowledge of software development principles and Agile methodologies who are eager to learn and grow in a dynamic team environment. This is a hybrid position requiring on-site support one day per week at our Northern Virginia customer site. What You Will Do: Assist in developing software applications, features, and components under the guidance of senior developers, following coding standards and best practices. Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews) to understand project requirements, estimate effort, and provide updates on progress. Implement assigned tasks and user stories, writing clean, readable code and conducting basic unit testing to verify functionality. Document software designs, implementation details, and technical specifications as directed by senior developers. Engage in self-study, training, and professional development to enhance coding skills and learn new technologies. Stay updated on emerging technologies and development trends; conduct research to explore tools and techniques that improve development practices. Collaborate with UX/UI designers, QA engineers, and business analysts to ensure alignment and integration of software components and features. What You Will Need (Basic Qualifications): Minimum 2 years of experience in software development (including internships, coursework, or professional roles). At least 1 year of experience working in Agile environments. Experience developing in one or more scripting languages or methodologies (e.g., Go, Bash, JavaScript). Experience designing programs or working within Linux-based operating systems (Ubuntu, RedHat, Debian). Familiarity with UI/UX development technologies, especially JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue). Working knowledge of database query languages and mobile database design (e.g., SQLite). Familiarity with issue tracking software (e.g., Jira) and version control systems (e.g., Git). Experience participating in or leading code reviews. Relevant certifications (e.g., Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Scrum Developer (CSD), or similar) are beneficial but not required.
