JOB DESCRIPTION

BAE Systems is seeking an individual to fill the role of a Junior Software Engineer. You will gain experience in one of the largest government contracts while reviewing software development in every facet of today’s best practices. The ideal candidate would provide a mix of software systems engineering expertise and understanding of software development practices. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Air Force’s acquisition of the next-generation Sentinel (formerly GBSD) Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) System.

Tasks include:

  • Support government initiatives towards modern software acquisition and development methodologies such as Agile and DevSecOps.
  • Assist in building DSO Policies for the government cloud network
  • Support GitLab project management for development teams
  • Understand the interworking’s of the Sentinel project’s infrastructure
  • Understand the tools used in the Software Factory (i.e., Sonarqube, Anchore, Twistlock, dependency checker, Linters, docker, ArgoCD.
  • Act as software Subject Matter Expert to review requirements, specification documents, processes, plans, guides, and reports.

Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US Citizenship status.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Experience with any coding or scripting language.
  • Experience with software requirements development.
  • Experience with Agile software metrics (e.g., burnup/burndown, velocity, code coverage).
  • Active Secret clearance with latest re-investigation date within last 6 years.
  • Familiarity with any of the following:
  • Aerospace Software Standards (DO-178C, ARINC-653, ARINC-661, MISRA C, etc.).
  • Agile/SAFe/Lean development.
  • DevSecOps pipelines, tools and techniques operated within a cloud-based environment.
  • Experience with any of the following MBSE requirement/architecture tools: Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody.
