Description

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer (m/f/d) to strengthen our Security Applications team at our Paderborn location.

In this role, you will develop, design, and test innovative products, systems, and services. You will work closely with interdisciplinary technical and engineering teams to define product requirements, design software architectures, and develop new solutions. Furthermore, you will support production processes, test prototypes, and continuously optimize performance, functionality, and quality through ongoing adjustments. With your technical expertise and solution-oriented approach, you will make a significant contribution to transforming innovative ideas into successful and marketable solutions.

 

Your tasks

  • Familiarization with concepts, practices and methods of software development engineering in the field of developing security solutions.
  • Setting up, maintaining and optimizing development environments and systems using technologies such as Gradle, Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, Docker and other modern development tools.
  • Supporting the team in the design, deployment, and operation of security solutions to ensure effective implementation and reliable operation.
  • Analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of problems in applications, servers and web functionalities.
  • Learning and applying methods and best practices of software development engineering.
  • Support for special projects as needed.
  • Collaboration with security analysts on vulnerability analyses and security assessments.
  • Contributing to the development of mobile applications.
  • Working with cryptographic libraries to secure communication.
  • Definition and implementation of solutions for security components, as well as the updating of third-party libraries.

 

Your profile

  • Completed Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a comparable field.
  • Initial practical experience in software development, for example through internships, working student positions or own projects.
  • Good knowledge of C++, demonstrated through study projects, internships or personal development projects.
  • Familiarity with modern AI tools and their integration into daily workflows.
  • Excellent German and English skills, both spoken and written.
  • Interest in the Rust programming language and its use in safety-critical applications.
  • A basic understanding of IT security solutions is advantageous.
  • Ability to independently analyze technical problems and develop efficient solutions.
  • High willingness to learn and motivation for continuous professional and personal development.
  • Team-oriented work style and strong communication skills.
