As a JuniorSommelier/Sommelier in our Sicilian restaurant, you will embody the elegance and passion of wine culture while delivering the impeccable service and sophistication that define The Ritz-Carlton brand. You will be responsible for curating exceptional wine experiences, guiding guests through thoughtful pairings, and elevating each moment of the dining journey with expertise, storytelling, and intuitive service. Your Responsibilities: * Provide personalized, anticipatory wine service in alignment with The Ritz-Carlton Gold Standards * Welcome and engage guests with warmth and professionalism, creating meaningful connections through wine * Curate and recommend wine pairings that complement the restaurant’s Sicilian cuisine and seasonal menus * Present and describe wines with confidence, sharing knowledge about regions, producers, vintages, and styles * Manage tableside wine service, including proper presentation, opening, decanting, and pouring * Maintain and continuously develop deep knowledge of the wine list, including Sicilian and Italian wines * Assist in maintaining the wine cellar, including inventory management, storage standards, and organization * Collaborate closely with the culinary and service teams to create harmonious food and wine experiences * Support wine list development with our awarded Head Sommelière and participate in tastings, supplier meetings and wine education initiatives * Participate in pre-shift briefings, ongoing training and service development programs Your Qualifications: * Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Sommelier/Sommelière or wine-focused service professional in a fine dining or luxury hospitality environment * Strong knowledge of Italian wines, particularly Sicilian wines and regional grape varieties * Formal wine education preferred (WSET Level 2/3, Court of Master Sommeliers, or equivalent certification) * Excellent communication, storytelling and guest engagement skills * Passion for wine, gastronomy, and delivering memorable guest experiences * Strong attention to detail and ability to perform gracefully in a fast-paced, luxury environment * Experience with wine cellar management and inventory control is an advantage * Fluent in English and German; Italian language skills highly desirable Our Benefits: * Become part of the Top 1% of Hospitality Professionals: Stand out with your experience in a prestigious environment and among professionals * Work in a 5-star environment: Enjoy working in a modern and luxurious workplace, equipped with high-quality amenities * Excellent career opportunities worldwide: Benefit from great career prospects in 5-star hotels around the world * Regular training & development opportunities: Take advantage of our ongoing training and in-depth development opportunities for professional and personal growth * Motivated and supportive team: Work in a dedicated, friendly team that collaborates on achieving success * Unique employee benefits: Enjoy numerous global perks such as hotel stays, Food & Beverage discounts, retail discounts, free uniform cleaning and meals, wellbeing and recognition programs, and many more benefits * Competitive compensation: Receive an attractive salary, along with a guaranteed annual pay increase based on your performance The statutory gross minimum remuneration for this position, based on full-time employment, is € 2.263,00 per month.
