About the role: Reporting to the Chef de Cuisine and General Manager, the Junior Sous Chef is responsible for the maintenance and completion of day-to-day systems and operations in the Clubhouse kitchen.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years practical experience in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • 1 year experience in a leadership role considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule.
  • Capable of conducting and assessing inventory.
  • Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Record check.
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of eight (8) hours.

Responsibilities
  • Delegate responsibilities to prep and service staff on a daily basis.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitization, and organization within the workspace (kitchen). This includes but is not limited to, ensuring refrigeration temperatures are to regulation, maintain that the daily and weekly cleaning duties are completed in a timely manner and to company standard.
  • Ensure labour matches projections with day-to-day variance based on fluctuations in revenue through schedule management.
  • Ensure food quality meets company standard 100% of the time. Communicate and work with both FOH and BOH management to provide solutions for any food quality issues.
  • Work with supervisors as they are promoted to ensure quality of standards are met.
  • Coach staff on standards and expectations in the kitchen. Be a resource for kitchen employees to turn to when they are seeking clarification.
  • Provide constructive feedback to staff and supervisors on a daily basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
