Bankstown Sports Club are currently seeking an experienced Junior Sous Chef to work along our Head Chef, on a Full-Time basis, in our busy Events Kitchen. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment!

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 2-3 years experience in a similar role (essential)
• Experience in high-volume kitchens, ideally in events, banquets, or large-scale functions
• Trade Qualifications in Commercial Cookery are essential
• A sound knowledge of food safety
• Experience working with and implementing HACCP procedures
• Ability to delegate tasks to the wider team and follow up/ monitor standards
• Ensure smooth and consistent food production aligned with event menus
• Desire to grow, learn & develop yourself and the food offering
• Ability to run the kitchen in head chefs absence
• Strong attention to detail
• Great communication skills (verbal and written)
• Must be able and prepared to work varied shift work, weekends and public holidays

• Cook all meals in accordance to food and service standards
• Perform food preparation tasks and to check quality/presentation of orders to make sure food is cooked consistently and properly
• Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time
• Ensure kitchen is kept to a high standard by providing a clean, hygienic environment for the preparation and delivery of meals
• Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen ensuring the Head Chef is supported
• Develop and implement safe systems of work to promote a safe, secure environment for staff and patrons
• Ensure that the necessary stock is on hand at the right quality and quantity.
