Gas Street Social is situated in Birmingham’s popular Mailbox development. GSS is a contemporary, stylish bar with a busy, fresh food kitchen.
We’re currently recruiting for a Junior Sous Chef on a full time, permanent basis, averaging 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a high volume kitchen, preparing & cooking fresh food.
The Junior Sous will report to the Sous Chef & Head Chef. The responsibilities of the role include:
- running the kitchen in the absence of a more senior chef
- ensuring the highest standards of food are served at all times, dishes presented and garnished to spec
- monitoring levels of prep & stock, checking in deliveries & quality of produce etc
- ensuring all company Health & Safety policies are adhered to at all times and the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained in the kitchen
- coaching and developing our CDP and Commis chefs
