Job Description We’re looking for a passionate and talented Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef ready to step up, take on leadership responsibilities, and deliver exceptional dining experiences in the heart of the Hunter Valley. What you’ll do: Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations Lead and supervise sections of the kitchen during service Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation Assist with stock control, ordering, and menu development Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with food safety standards Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to support team growth Expected Hours: Full time, 38 hours per week Location: Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort - 15 Thompsons Rd, Pokolbin NSW 2320 Salary: $75,000-$80,000 (excluding super) Approved Sponsor: Minor Hotels Australasia Limited (previously known as Oaks Hotels & Resorts Limited) Qualifications What we’re looking for: Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar, ready to step up Strong culinary skills and a passion for high-quality food Ability to lead a section and work well under pressure Excellent communication and teamwork skills Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays Relevant trade qualifications in commercial cookery Why join us?
