We are currently looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join our team at The Little Orange Door, Clapham Common.
The right candidate will have experience of at least 2 years in a restaurant setting as Chef de Partie as well as high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
The Little Door and Co. is a steadily growing company with bars across London, serving guests with fresh and exciting drinks as well as a vibrant food menu to match. In your role as Junior Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the head chef in the following tasks:

  • Food production for service
  • Daily compliance checks
  • Organisation and cleaning of the kitchen
  • Covering holidays when needed or any other foreseeable or unforeseeable absence of kitchen staff
  • Preparing daily staff meals
  • Delivering dishes to a high standard during service
  • You will be expected to work Wednesday to Sunday. This may change to fit the needs of bookings or special events on occasion.

Skills and experience that we are looking for are as follows

  • Excellent time keeping
  • Practical kitchen skills i.e. able to demonstrate knowledge and experience using tools such as kitchen knives and machinery
  • Good food knowledge and a desire to give your best to every dish
  • Good communication skills when liaising with staff members as well as customers and external contractors
  • A keen eye for organisation and cleanliness
  • At least 2 years’ experience within a fast paced, professional kitchen
