Junior Structural Engineer – Winnipeg, MB

Our client is seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to join their Winnipeg office in a unique position that offers far more than traditional consulting work. The successful candidate will work closely with local contractors, designers, and industry stakeholders while contributing to technical projects, education initiatives, and national design standards. Key responsibilities
- Serve as a local technical resource for designers, contractors, and construction professionals
- Provide technical guidance and assist with real-world structural design challenges
- Deliver seminars, workshops, and technical presentations to industry and academic audiences
- Engage with local post-secondary institutions and support research and education initiatives
- Contribute to national projects such as codes, standards, technical guides, and design tools
- Participate in meetings, events, and site visits with local industry partners
Candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Building Science, Materials, or related field
- Eligible for EIT registration in Manitoba (PEng an asset but not required)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with comfort presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Masonry knowledge or experience is highly valued but not required (graduate research in masonry is a strong asset)
- Ability to work independently in a small office environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and structural analysis tools such as RAM Suite, SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD, S-Frame
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally and occasionally outside the province, including to the US

- Salary range: 65,000 to 85,000 dollars based on experience
