THE OPPORTUNITY:

Tetra Tech is adding a Junior Structural Engineer to our Renewable Energy team in the Power Division based in Calgary, Alberta. This role will support the design and analysis of civil and structural engineering projects, working closely with experienced professionals to gain hands-on industry experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil-Structural Engineering.
  • 1-3 years of related design experience
  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Training (EIT) in Alberta or another Canadian province.
  • Knowledge of civil/structural engineering principles, practices, and design methods.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, ANSYS or ETABS.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and analysis of structural components and systems for renewable energy projects.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables including detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Review and interpret topographic surveys and geotechnical investigation reports.
  • Conduct field site inspections to review the condition of existing structures and review the construction of new construction projects to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Estimate project materials, equipment, and labor costs to support feasibility analysis.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
