We have a great new opportunity for a Junior Support Engineer/Systems Administrator to join our IT team in Dublin 4. The position will provide essential support for our technology infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will be looking to kick-start a career in IT support and systems administration, gain hands-on experience and grow their technical skill set. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are essential.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
0-2 years’ experience in an IT support or system administration role.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Basic knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
Familiarity with networking fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPN).
Experience with Office 365 and other productivity tools.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
Familiarity with Cyber Security (Blue/Red Teams, IDS/IPS, EDR) is a plus
Ability to identify, analyse, and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
A friendly, professional manner with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Willingness to collaborate and learn from team members.
Certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals are advantageous.
Basic understanding of scripting (PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Consistency in following procedures, documenting issues, and ensuring system stability.

Reports To: ICT Manage
Technical Support: Provide first-line support for end-users by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues through tickets, calls, and chat.
Systems Administration: Assist in maintaining and monitoring IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and workstations.
User Account Management: Handle user provisioning, de-provisioning, and permissions across various platforms.
Incident Management: Log and manage incidents and service requests, escalating issues as needed to senior team members.
Documentation: Document support cases, processes, and solutions to improve knowledge sharing and team efficiency.
IT Asset Management: Track and manage IT assets, including inventory of hardware and software licenses.
Security Compliance: Assist in enforcing IT security policies, including antivirus updates, patch management, and system monitoring.
Backups & Recovery: Monitor and ensure the integrity of system backups and assist in disaster recovery planning.
Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
