Overview Currently looking for a Junior Support Engineer to assist B2B clients who buy VoIP termination/origination (DID and outbound SIP) for call centers, business PBXs and resellers. On-the-job training is provided. Responsibilities Perform pre-sales engineering and provisioning tasks Work closely with network operations and network monitoring teams Work directly with client IT teams via email and phone to troubleshoot equipment Work with Tier1 suppliers to open and resolve tickets and perform testing Pro-actively suggest and implement system and process improvements Assist clients with remote troubleshooting of their SIP-based PBXs’ Go down to any level, including front line, to troubleshoot specific VoIP issues No roles, no escalations. Sometimes you double as front-line CSR. At other times you are assisting with the new install, together with the Sales Engineer overseeing the project. No travel. All support by phone and email only, from the Fargo office. Technical writing to assist with blog posts and social media Must be able to work flexible hours on occasion. Qualifications Ability to support Linux based PBXes such as Asterisk and Freeswitch, or desire to learn the skills on the job Understanding of QoS, Linux based packet trace tools, SIP signaling debug, or desire to learn the skill during on-the-job training Firewall experience, or previous networking employment a plus Excellent written/verbal communication skills
