Overview:
SOSi is seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Junior Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team supporting our government customer. This role primarily focuses on handling Tier 2 service desk tickets, providing in-depth technical support, and maintaining systems across a secure network environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 2 support for escalated technical issues via service desk tickets.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and application issues.
  • Collaborate with senior administrators and engineers to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Maintain user accounts, system backups, and patch management processes.
  • Document resolutions and contribute to the IT knowledge base.
  • Adhere to ITIL processes and maintain compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies.
  • Support infrastructure projects and system upgrades as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience on an IT service desk with demonstrated escalation support.
  • Associates degree in an IT-related field (or two years of IT experience in lieu of degree).
  • ITIL 4 Foundations certification.
  • MCSA: Windows Server 2016 or higher-level server certification.
  • IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CSA+, GSEC).
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104).
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification.
  • Proficiency with workstation, application server, and database server platforms.
  • Experience supporting DoD, especially Army environments.
  • Fluency in a foreign language is a plus.
