Description

CANDLE Lithium is looking for a highly motivated Junior technician to join our warehouse in Edmonton. The individual hired will work on CANDLE’s benchtop and pilot units and on performing Li extraction from various brines. The successful candidate is also expected to use chemistry/engineering skillsets to troubleshoot technical obstacles as they arise and work with senior staff on brine pretreatment and water recovery systems. Strong communication skills and ability to perform technical writing, attention to details, and meticulous notetaking are essential in conducting laboratory research and development and in working with the R&D team. The position is full time and the compensation will be determined based on the candidate qualifications.

• BSc. or technical diploma in Engineering or Chemistry or a related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience in an academic or industrial settings.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving, creative thinking, analytical and organizational skills.
• Experience with laboratory equipment troubleshooting including pumps, filtration units, and scales.
• Sample preparation for ICP analysis
• Ability to lift and move pails of brine (up to 50lbs)
• Must be a permanent resident or citizen of Canada

Duration: 6 months with possibility of extension
Approximate Hours Per Week: 40
