THE OPPORTUNITY

We are growing rapidly, and we are seeking top-notch Full-Stack Junior Software Engineers with a product mindset to become instrumental in the development of our products suite.
As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be expected to contribute to development of Gentrack products by actively collaborating with team members and other developers across teams. Operating within best coding practice is essential to this role, as is a team mind-set.

THE SPECIFICS

As a Junior Full Stack Engineer, you will be expected to support to the development of Gentrack products by actively collaborating with team members and other developers across teams. Operating within the best coding practice is essential to this role, as is a team mind-set.

  • Active participation in all aspects of Agile software development. Including:
  • Punctual and reliable attendance at all team meetings including daily stand ups.
  • Clear communication of what you have done since the last stand-up and what you are planning today.
  • Clear communication to your team about any obstacles or blockers.
  • Regular input/contribution is provided at task planning sessions.
  • Active involvement in grooming of the backlog.
  • Emphasis on the importance of team play, made evident by interactions with team members and the wider company with positive relationships as a result.
  • Developing clean, readable, functional and efficient cloud-native software using the latest serverless patterns, as part of a self-organising, multi-disciplined scrum team
  • Testing and creating automated tests for software
  • Documenting code and product features
  • Participating in planning, stand-ups, estimation, retrospectives, and backlog grooming as appropriate

What we’re looking for (you don’t need to be a guru at all, we’re looking forward to coaching and collaborating with you):

  • At least 12 months of professional experience as a Software Engineer developing commercial software - MUST
