FinTap is looking for the right candidate to join our team as a Junior Underwriter. We’re seeking a dedicated and driven individual who can maintain positive relationships with business owners and partners and is motivated by personal and professional growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree or enrolled and in good academic standing in a Bachelors Degree program
• Basic understanding of general credit policies, lending operations, credit principles, and loan research.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects at any given time, as well as associated conflict/resolution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to work effectively within a team, with unexpected pressures.
• Proficient with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Advance computer and web application skills
• Bilingual preferred
• Underwriting/Loan Processing experience a plus

• Assist with thorough background checks, and financial analyses for new merchant applications.
• Acquire necessary documentation needed in accordance with submissions, including merchant processing statements and any correlated financials.
• Filter merchant applications for further review by a senior underwriter.
• Conduct merchant phone interviews to verify the potential future cliental and its’ business operations.
• Determine the creditworthiness of a small business and its owner(s)
• Work with sales and support staff to outline and close deals.
