About the role As a Just Brass Tutor, this is your opportunity to provide opportunities for primary school students who would not normally have access to a high-quality music program. Reporting to the Ringwood Corps Officer, and working alongside a second Tutor, this is a casual role located in Ringwood , VIC. How you will make an impact Deliver engaging weekly brass tuition to primary school students in small group settings, supporting skill development and measurable learning progress. Build and grow a thriving Just Brass program, working toward full student participation while maintaining accurate attendance, progress, and administrative records. Lead and support ensemble rehearsals and performances, including weekly Corps rehearsals and special school and community events throughout the year. Foster strong relationships with schools, families, and Salvation Army Corps, ensuring clear communication, positive outcomes for students, and strong pathways into broader ministry initiatives. Manage program operations and compliance, including instruments and equipment, school requirements, and adherence to Salvation Army and education department policies. What you will bring Extensive experience in playing brass instrument/s, combined with experience in providing instrument tuition Music qualifications, including teaching qualifications would be well regarded Knowledge of music education and engaging with at-risk students Knowledge of and participation in relevant risk prevention strategies and the promotion of a safe workplace What we offer Access to EAP and health & wellness initiatives Ongoing training and development opportunities that enhance on the job skills and proficiency.
