  • Mature individual of professional presentation with minimum grade 12 equivalent and combination of related training and experience.

Responsibilities

The Justice Services Assistant is responsible for assisting the department staff to ensure the effective daily operation of the Justice Department programs, projects, and operations by providing direct administrative and clerical support to the Justice Office. This position ensures a timely and organized flow of information and records management within the department by implementing information and communication management systems, procedures, and policies, including file and database systems development, maintenance and training. Key areas of responsibilities include:

  • Visitor reception;
  • Telephone, organizing incoming and outgoing communications;
  • Maintain filing system and project binders;
  • Documentation, such as minute taking, document preparation, data entry, time entry, maintain inventory stocks and controls;
  • Schedule of maintenance and repair of office equipment process requests;
  • Communicate with clients and community, provide research, provide reports;
  • Serve as the JOHS representative;
  • Assist in delivery of Justice programming and services;
  • Connecting clients and community members to supports;
  • Assisting clients and community members with court navigation and forms;
  • Assisting clients and community members with applying to legal aid, and;
  • Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.
