This is a full-time position, 1st shift requiring weekend availability. SUMMARY Technician more geared towards performing preventive maintenance on mainly guest rooms, while working towards being proficient in independently with possibly assisting with service calls and projects. This tech has the ability or is gaining the knowledge to perform tasks including; basic HVAC repairs, toilet repairs, changing light bulbs, minor repairs of hardware, repairs to tubs and showers, wall paper repairs, painting, tile work, replacing ceiling tiles, switch and outlet replacement, repairs to plumbing fixtures, repairs to light fixtures. Guest rooms are the top priority for this position; to find and to solve any repairs prior to having the rooms rented.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Ability to learn new tasks - Ability to learn all hotel standards, policies and procedures - Carry out specific oral and written instructions - Toilet repairs - Tub/shower repairs - Replace light switches and outlets - Repair light fixtures and lamps - Plumbing fixtures and drain cleaning - Hardware repairs or carpentry skills - Drywall, paint, wallpaper repairs - Tile and grout replacment - Wood touch up - Usage of lifts - Ladder and Fall Protection - Understand electrical multimeter for troubleshooting low/high voltage and controls - Change/replace lightbulbs - Change/replace ceiling tiles - Understand, operate, troubleshoot advanced electrical, plumbing and HVAC - Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdowns - Clean, protect, secure and maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel - Ability to maintain a daily log of activities to communicate to other shifts - Ability to clean all engineering areas as directed by Engineering Management - Ability to work in a neat and efficient manner, keeping all work areas clean and organized - Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional manner - Maintain a professional image at all times - Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner - Provide a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures - Perform duties assigned by Engineering Management - Report to work on time in a full Engineering uniform This position requires weekend work, as it is essential to the role. If you are unable to work weekends (Saturday and Sundays) you would not be eligible for this position.   REQUIRED SKILLS - Valid drivers license is preferred - previous experience in hotel maintenance is preferred - Wallpaper, painting, wood touch skills up is preferred - Strong communication and customer service skills - Must be able to work well with all members of the Engineering Department and all other members of the Hotel Staff - Ability to utilize technology including a smartphone and a computer - Display a mechanical aptitude   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent years of relevant work experience required - Prior experience in the hotel industry is a plus but not a requirement   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
