Description

The Texarkana Arkansas School District is now accepting applicants for a K–12 Performing Arts Coordinator. This individual will provide leadership and coordination to ensure a vertically and horizontally aligned performing arts curriculum and program structure across all grade levels within the Texarkana Arkansas School District. Additionally, he/she will responsible for supporting and enhancing student achievement through the development, evaluation, and alignment of high-quality performing arts programming.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Arkansas teaching certification in a performing arts field required; administrative certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching in a performing arts discipline (choral, instrumental, etc.).
  • Demonstrated leadership in curriculum planning, program development, or instructional coaching preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of multiple performing arts disciplines, including choral music, instrumental music (including strings), elementary music, marching band, and jazz band.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with educators and administrators in a team-based setting

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with performing arts educators and administrators to develop a cohesive, district-wide vision and strategy for performing arts instruction.
  • Evaluate existing performing arts programs to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities for alignment and improvement.
  • Align curriculum and instructional practices vertically (across grade levels) and horizontally (within grade levels) to ensure consistency and progression of skills.
  • Serve as a liaison between campus-level performing arts programs and district administration to ensure alignment of programs, resources, and goals.
  • Provide support and professional development to performing arts teachers across multiple disciplines.
  • Assist with recruitment, development, and retention of high-quality performing arts educators.
  • Work collaboratively with school leaders and instructional staff to promote student engagement, achievement, and participation in performing arts programs.
  • Ensure equitable access to performing arts opportunities across all campuses.
  • Support scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for performing arts programming in coordination with district leadership.
  • Stay current on trends, best practices, and standards in performing arts education.
