Job Details Job Location: San Francisco, CA 94132 Position Type: Seasonal Salary Range: $25.00 - $27.00 Hourly Dates: June 8 – August 21, 2026 Training Week: June 8–12 Prep Period: May 11 – June 5 (up to 10 hrs/week) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM Pay Rate: $25–$27/hour (commensurate with experience) Position Overview: The K–2nd Grade Unit Head is a leadership role within the camp, responsible for overseeing all programming, staff, and logistics for our youngest campers. This includes developing the Kindergarten English curriculum, supervising counselors and specialists, managing supplies across all age groups, and serving as the primary contact for camper behavior and parent communication. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement an age-appropriate English curriculum for Kindergarten campers Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to counselors and specialists in the K–2 unit Manage and organize camp-wide supplies and materials, ensuring timely distribution and restocking Serve as the point person for behavior escalations within the unit Communicate with parents as needed regarding camper needs, incidents, and updates Support daily transitions, group management, and camper engagement Collaborate closely with camp leadership to align with camp values and goals Qualifications Qualifications: Strong background in early childhood or elementary education Experience managing or mentoring staff in a school or camp setting Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure under pressure Familiarity with child development, behavior management, and family engagement best practices This is a hands-on leadership role best suited to an educator or camp professional who enjoys building structure while maintaining a joyful, engaging environment for young children.
