Description Position Summary We are seeking a passionate and engaging K–8 Music Teacher to inspire students through music education and performance. The ideal candidate fosters a love for music while supporting students’ academic, social, and creative development. This position involves teaching general music, vocal instruction, and age-appropriate music theory while contributing to a positive, collaborative school culture. Requirements Key Responsibilities Provide music instruction for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate music lessons aligned with curriculum standards Teach foundational music skills including rhythm, melody, harmony, vocal technique, and music appreciation Plan and lead student performances, concerts, chapel programs, and school events as applicable Integrate music with other subject areas when appropriate Manage classroom behavior and create a positive, inclusive learning environment Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents Maintain music classroom, instruments, and materials Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and staff to support school-wide initiatives Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field (preferred) Teaching certification or eligibility preferred Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school music Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to work effectively with students of diverse abilities and learning styles Proficiency in vocal instruction; instrumental experience is a plus Commitment to professional growth and teamwork Preferred Qualities Passion for teaching and mentoring students Creativity and enthusiasm for music education Organized, dependable, and flexible Supportive of the school’s mission, values, and community Physical Requirements Ability to stand, move, and actively engage with students throughout the day Ability to lift and move musical instruments and equipment as needed Work Environment Classroom and performance settings School-day schedule with occasional evening or event responsibilities
