ABOUT US

Entheos Academy is a K-8 charter school with approximately 570 students, located in Kearns, Utah. Entheos is a Service Learning school that uses the Expeditionary Learning Education model to focus on student achievement in three areas: Mastery of Knowledge and Skills, Character, and High-Quality Work.
We are seeking an additional Special Education teacher to add to our excellent team, to take on a portion of our Special Education case load. Responsibilities will include:
* Managing a case-load of students.
* Coordinating the services of the case-load with the assistance of para-educators.
* Writing IEP’s and conducting IEP meetings, administer assessments/testing, and ensure file compliance.
* Understanding and becoming fully committed to the Entheos Charter, Mission, and Values.
* Intentionally build a school culture that evidences high expectations for service, excellence, and leadership.
* Modeling a commitment to on-going professional development by participating fully in off-site conferences, institutes, summits, regional programming.
* Motivating, effectively manage, and inspire students.
* Modeling effective instructional practices and tracking data to ensure students are reaching goals.
* Aligning the use of time, talents, and material to the school’s mission.
Qualifications:
* A valid Utah Professional Educator License or the ability to meet the State Board requirements for alternative licensure (minimum requirement to get into the state alternative licensure program is to already have a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject).

Responsibilities
  • Regular and Reliable Attendance: Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality to ensure classroom and school activities are uninterrupted.
  • Physical Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and bend for extended periods as required by teaching and classroom activities.
  • Terrain Navigation: Ability to navigate various terrains (e.g., steps, uneven ground, and outdoor paths) while participating in fieldwork, excursions, or other outdoor activities with students.
  • Physical Endurance: Ability to walk at least one mile during fieldwork or outdoor activities with students, including the ability to endure varied weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, rain, or snow.
  • Emergency Response Capability: Ability to move quickly, including running if necessary, to respond to student emergencies or urgent situations.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate (speak, read, write) in English to interact with students, parents, and colleagues, and to perform essential job functions.
