We have the opportunity available to join our Te Ikaroa regional team as a Kaiāwhina in a permanent, part-time role.
Kaiāwhina support the promotion and protection the health and hauora within communities, with particular focus on Māori and other priority populations. Kaiāwhina uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity principles that enable individuals, whānau and communities to achieve equitable health and wellbeing.
The primary purpose of the role is to work effectively with children and their whānau and to provide advocacy, advice and support to access appropriate health and social services. Kaiāwhina will develop a wide knowledge of services, establishing relationships with the networks of health and social service providers involved with children and young people.
