McMenamins Kalama Harbor Lodge is Hiring for Sales and Events Manager! Description of the Position: Primary responsibility of this position is to effectively oversee all aspects of Sales and Events operations for the property. Duties include but are not limited to; Train all sales staff and supervise the booking of all property events at the property. This includes supervising all follow through with customers from initial inquiry, booking, generating contracts, planning menus, set-up details, overnight accommodations, property tour, visiting event, and answering billing questions. With the Director of Sales/Events, the Sales and Events Manager will also help to develop and implement policies for the Sales and Events office relating to booking and executing events. This position is also required to meet weekly with Kitchen, Catering, & Pub staff to go over upcoming events. It is also necessary to meet with Catering Captains to review events that have occurred and continue communication between catering and sales/events to improve operations. The regular review of contracts and BEO’s for upcoming events is also required to make sure all information is complete and correct along with the review of weekly reports from coordinators regarding the status of their activity reports. Qualified applicants • Previous event planning experience required • Previous experience in the sales and events office preferred • Previous management experience is preferred but not required • Computer experience including knowledge of excel, word and email use • Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekend, and holiday availability required • Past hotel database experience (PMS, S&C) a plus, knowledge of Oracle’s Opera Cloud is preferred • Skilled at contract negotiations, accurate reporting, prospecting, networking and generating new opportunities • Some travel required (offsite client meetings, sales meetings, networking, trade shows) Community • Resurrection of historic buildings and properties in large and small Northwest communities • Giving back financially to local schools and non-profits near each location • Helping other local businesses grow with collaborative products • Our pubs and hotel properties are places for all to gather, relax, converse and create a strong foundation for the fabric that makes up a neighborhood Wage: $36,000 - $45,600 Plus Gratuities / Salaried Non Exempt
