Position: Back of House Servant (Housekeeper)

Job description: This role is an essential part of the Housekeeping team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness throughout Lympne Castle, helping ensure our valued guests have a top notch experience. This is a very hands-on role where you will organise and lead Housekeeping shifts working in tandem with the Housekeepers.

TO BE CONSIDERED, THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA NEED TO BE MET:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in shift leadership or supervision in housekeeping or a related field;
  • Knowledge of efficient and effective cleaning techniques, products and equipment;
  • Self-motivated and disciplined;
  • Solutions-oriented;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment;
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and evenings as required;
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects, as well as the ability to navigate stairs, variously sized spaces, and uneven ground;
  • Ability to stand and actively clean for long periods of time;
  • Have a safety-first mind set.

Responsibilities

-Organise and delegate shift responsibilities.
-Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to.
-Train team members.
-Clean and maintain orderliness in various areas of the castle interior and exterior premises, including cottages, bedrooms, bathrooms, common areas, food and beverage outlets, ceremonial and event spaces.
- Laundry and ironing.
-Stocking and inventory of guest areas, cleaning supplies and linens.
-Adhere to health and safety standards in accordance with castle regulations and industry best practices.
This is a 7-day /week hospitality operation. As such, weekend and evening work will be required.
