Description Functions: Repairs and/or replaces all body shop parts on vehicles brought in with body damage. Relationships: Reports to Body Shop Manager and Production Manager. Responsibilities and Authorities: Inspect vehicle for frame damage or other damage not noted on repair estimate. Immediately advise body shop manager of any hidden or missed vehicle damage which is not listed on the estimate or work order. Remove and replace body parts, glass and cosmetic parts from vehicle. Replace, straighten, pull and repair any damaged panels or parts. Apply filler and finish to match original contours. Check all parts received for defects and/or flaws before using. Verify correct parts are being used on vehicle before work begins. Complete and verify all work as described on estimate or work order. Return all unused or repairable parts to parts coordinator after job is completed. Monitor safe working conditions and proper application of supplies and materials. Maintain cleanliness of work area. Clean and return all shop tools and equipment to designated area at the end of each day. Advise the body shop manager of potentially hazardous conditions or of damaged tools and equipment. Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management. Requirements Qualifications: Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Working knowledge of body parts and bodies of vehicles. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Working Conditions: This is a physically demanding position. Will stand six to eight hours per day. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift, handle, push and pull. Will use hand and power tools. Will lift parts weighing up to 70 lbs. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, heat, cold, fumes and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. WE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
