Description Department: Wholesale Parts Department Functions: Responsible for coordinating the accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of parts across all locations. This role serves as the central point of communication between parts counter people, pullers, drivers, and customers, ensuring orders are verified, organized, dispatched correctly, and delivered according to customer expectations. The Dispatcher supports drivers with all operational needs outside of management decisions and plays a key role in route management, special delivery requests, and customer service. Reports to: Wholesale Parts Manager Responsibilities and Authority: Receive invoices printed by counter staff after customer calls. Verify pulled orders against invoices for accuracy and completeness. Organize and stage orders for delivery according to route, priority, and special requests. Dispatch deliveries efficiently alongside all other scheduled routes. Manage and organize the route/loop truck to ensure timely deliveries. Re-route deliveries or organize pick-ups as needed to accommodate changing priorities. Coordinate all special delivery requests requiring fleet vehicles for Fort Wayne locations and assist with special requests involving Decatur. Work directly with drivers to ensure vehicles are properly loaded and unloaded. Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding delivery issues, questions, or needs (excluding management-level decisions). Ensure drivers have clear instructions and necessary information for each delivery or pick-up. Handle incoming customer calls regarding delivery status. Provide accurate updates by coordinating with drivers and reviewing dispatch schedules. Communicate delivery changes or delays clearly and professionally. Maintain smooth communication between counter staff, pullers, drivers, and other locations. Track special requests, priority deliveries, and inter-location support needs. Ensure delivery operations remain organized, efficient, and customer-focused. Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management. Requirements Qualifications: High School diploma or the equivalent. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Clear and professional communication skills (phone and in-person). Ability to work under time-sensitive conditions. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Familiarity with dispatching, routing, or logistics operations preferred. One year of experience in an automotive parts department preferred. Computer skills required. Professional personal appearance. Valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Will climb ladders to get parts from shelves. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, lift, push and pull. Will work closely with the Service Department and Body Shop. Will be exposed to noise, dust, heat, cold, fumes, paint and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials. May work outside occasionally.
