JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing exceptional service to both pets and their owners. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the well-being of animals while maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kennel.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in animal care or a veterinary setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
  • Compassion for animals in our care that are boarding while they are rehabilitated to new homes
  • Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods.
  • A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare.

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
  • Clean and maintain kennel areas, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for all animals.
  • Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to staff.
  • Assist with customer service duties, including greeting clients and answering queries.
  • Handle heavy lifting as required when moving animals or cleaning equipment.
  • Support staff with basic tasks as needed, utilising any relevant veterinary experience.
  • Ensure working practices including due diligence and COSHH are followed
