OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing excellent service to both pets and their owners. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals, ensuring they are comfortable, safe, and healthy during their stay.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience is preferred but not essential; a genuine love for animals is crucial.
  • Strong animal care skills, with the ability to handle various breeds and temperaments safely.
  • Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners and provide them with information about their pets’ care.
  • Capability for heavy lifting, as the role may require moving large bags of food or equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and cats.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kennels and surrounding areas by performing regular cleaning tasks.
  • Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to senior staff or management.
  • Assist with customer service duties, including greeting pet owners and answering enquiries about services.
  • Handle heavy lifting as required when we have a food delivery.
  • Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both staff and animals.
