JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a suitably qualified individual to live in rent-free. In exchange for free accommodation, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team for a minimum of 10 hours per week. which gives time for an individual to work full-time or study full-time. The ideal candidate should be a flexible individual, perhaps studying Animal management, Veterinary or Veterinary Nurse and will have a genuine love for animals and a strong commitment to providing exceptional care. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

SKILLS

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or moving supplies.
  • Experience in animal care or training to be a veterinary or veterinary nurse is essential
  • DBS check
  • Full driving licence
  • A genuine passion for animal welfare and the ability to work compassionately with various breeds and temperaments.

Responsibilities
  • Provide routine care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs
  • Clean and sanitise kennels, play areas, and equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to management.
  • Assist with administering medications as directed by management
  • Support management at vet visits during examinations or treatments as needed.
  • Attend various training classes for behaviour and Ringcraft
  • Attend dog shows as and when required
