JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of animals in our care while providing excellent customer service to pet owners. This position requires a love for animals, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
This is five days per week 8am - 5pm with one of those days being over the weekend.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in animal care or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with pet owners.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks associated with animal handling.
  • A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing high-quality care.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning tasks. Attention to detail a must.
  • Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
  • Assist with the intake and discharge of animals, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and wellbeing.
  • Assist with heavy lifting when moving animals.
