REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Physical capability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) for tasks such as moving bags of food or handling larger dogs.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, as our kennel operates 365 days a year.
  • Knowledge of basic animal care practices and an understanding of animal behavior.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
  • Comfortable with active, physically demanding work, including bending and crouching.
  • Reliable transportation is required, as there is no public transportation available at this location.
  • Ability to successfully complete online dog safety training

DESCRIPTION:

We offer a competitive hourly rate based on experience. We are currently hiring for permanent full-time positions ( This is not a summer position) Our duties are well-defined and encompass all aspects of caring for dogs. Our team works collaboratively in a friendly and cooperative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the daily care and maintenance of animals in the kennel, ensuring a clean and nurturing environment.
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain high standards of hygiene.
  • Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs.
  • Provide exercise and playtime to all dogs in our care, ensuring they receive ample physical activity.
  • Supervise dogs during social interactions to ensure safety and positive experiences.
  • Administer medications as needed, following prescribed guidelines.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals, promptly reporting any concerns or abnormalities.
  • Assist with grooming tasks, including bathing, brushing, and nail trimming.
  • Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Observe dogs to ensure good health and well-being.
  • Move dogs to different areas as required for their care and comfort.
