Full time Kennel Attendant

Members of the Kennel Attendant Team will play a crucial role in maintaining the well-being of our guests and executing the values of our facility; committed to providing exceptional care to our guests. The Kennel Attendants work under the direct supervision of The Lodge Manager.

Duties

  • Animal care - ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of the guests; feeding, exercising, enrichment activities, cleaning and at times administering medications
  • Cleanliness/sanitation - ensuring cleanliness of all Lodge areas, strict adherence to sanitation procedures including, but no limited to, guest enclosures, indoor playroom, food and water bowls, laundry and guest waste disposal
  • Health and Behaviour - observing guests for any signs of behavioural changes, injury or illness. Reporting any concerns to Manager
  • Exercise - adhering to the predetermined daycare/lodging exercise and enrichment activities schedules
  • Team player with all staff and guests ensuring all actions support the values of The Lodge
  • Perform other duties as assigned/needed to meet the needs of the guests and facility

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with animals; boarding facility, shelter, veterinary clinic preferred
  • Canine CPR/First Aid is an asset
  • Passion for animal welfare and love of animals
  • Ability to handle all sized breeds and temperaments
  • Ability to remain calm in various situations
  • Attention to detail and capability to follow instructions
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects

Job Types: Full-time
Shifts: 7:00am - 4:00pm, 1:00pm - 9:00pm. Must be available to work weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Pay: $17.20-$24.00 per hour
