Description Ensure healthy and clean environment for animals and people at the clinic. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Clean kennels to clinic standards set by Lead Veterinarian. These kennels include but are not limited to owned cats and dogs, feral/Community Cats, adoption program animals, etc. Keep breakroom clean. Clean refrigerator once a week. Keep bathroom clean. Keep dishes clean and put away. Taking trash to dumpster throughout the day. Maintain a clean and retail friendly environment at all times. Account for cats and paperwork in each area of the clinic where cats are housed for adoptions, sanctuary, or TNR/Community Cats. Ensure all animals are fed, watered and healthy. Escalate any illness to the Veterinarian. Help Vet Technicians as needed. This includes but is not limited to cleaning instruments, making packs, helping at discharge, put E collars together, pop syringes, drawing up vaccines, etc. Ensure all supplies for caring for the animals are in stock at all times. Prep, monitor and transport patients throughout the surgical workflow (from carriers to kennels, from kennel to prep table, from prep table to the surgical table, from surgical table to the recovery area, from the recovery area, to the kennels, from kennels back into carriers) Properly handle animals at all times during transporting to various areas and during restraining animals Laundry Basic housekeeping such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, cleaning windows, etc. Perform other duties as assigned Requirements SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Advanced organization skills EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Customer Service Experience WORKING CONDITIONS Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as required Regular and predictable attendance is required Moderate noise / animal kennel atmosphere PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the duties of this job. Regularly required to talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, calculator and telephone The ability to move about to coordinate work within observation rooms. The ability to stand for long periods of time and in excess of 5 hours. Frequent bending, stooping, and crouching Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of radiation. While performing the duties of this job, employees will frequently handle urine, vomit, and feces from cats, dogs, and rabbits. These can contain parasites contagious to humans. Employees are expected to wear proper protective clothing, gloves, and masks as needed. Responsibilities
