Description Hickory Pet Inn is a busy, full service, dog and cat boarding facility located in Plymouth Meeting, PA. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Kennel Care Technicians to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility. As a Kennel Care Technician, you will ensure that all pets receive the attention, cleanliness, and care they deserve while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for both animals and their owners. Responsibilities · Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising dogs and caring for cats. · Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and other animal housing facilities. · Monitor the health and behavior of animals · Ensure proper handling of all animals to maintain safety for both staff and pets. · Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals’ needs and behaviors. · Perform heavy lifting as required for animal handling and cleaning tasks. · Collaborate with team members to provide excellent customer service and support. Qualifications · Previous experience in animal handling or in a kennel environment is highly preferred. · Customer service skills to effectively interact with pet owners. · Knowledge of basic animal care practices · Ability to handle dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments safely. · Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and/or stand for extended periods. · A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being. · Ability to communicate and work with other team members. · Applicants aged 16 or 17 are required to obtain valid PA Employment/Age Certificate (working papers), issued by their school district before employment can begin. Anticipated Schedule This is a full-time position with three (3) or four (4) 10-hour shifts/week, 7:30am- 5:30pm. Compensation $14-16/hour What’s in It for You?
