Description

The Ketamine Infusion Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care by administering intravenous Ketamine treatments in accordance with physician protocols. This role involves performing comprehensive patient assessments, accurately calculating and administering Ketamine dosages, and closely monitoring patients throughout the infusion process to ensure their safety and comfort. The nurse will also manage the treatment environment, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and provide compassionate support to patients dealing with conditions such as major depressive disorder, PTSD, OCD, and chronic pain.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Ketamine Infusion Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care by administering intravenous Ketamine treatments in accordance with physician protocols. This role involves performing comprehensive patient assessments, accurately calculating and administering Ketamine dosages, and closely monitoring patients throughout the infusion process to ensure their safety and comfort. The nurse will also manage the treatment environment, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and provide compassionate support to patients dealing with conditions such as major depressive disorder, PTSD, OCD, and chronic pain.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and compassionate, ethical patient interactions in a mental health setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; effective team collaboration
  • Excellent work ethic and organizational skills; detail- and outcome-oriented
  • Willingness to learn and adapt; ability to manage multiple tasks under stress
  • Maintain strong patient boundaries, strict confidentiality, and high integrity
  • Conflict resolution among staff members, patients and families
  • Inventory control
  • IV catheter placement and infusion administration
  • Mathematical dosing and conversion calculations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Full range of body motions, including manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Some sitting, bending, stooping, and stretching
  • Standing and walking
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Must have adequate hearing and speaking ability to communicate with co-workers and others in person, by phone, and via online correspondence.
